Hybrid Hard Drive

Hybrid Hard Drive
or Hybrid Hard Disk, a disk drive equipped with a large buffer of non-volatile FLASH memory that is used to cache data during normal operation so that the mechanical disk can be turned off. The benefits of this design include faster start-up for the drive and the computer, decreased power requirements, and improved reliability.
