Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter
or Digital Alarm Communications Transmitter, a system component located at the protected premises that will contact a digital alarm communicator receiver through the public telephone switched network, a cellular telephone system, or other means and transmit the necessary data to identify the protected premises and the change of status. A DACT may be part of the control unit that provides alarm or monitoring functions or interface with a control unit that provides these functions.
